Also, if you want to book through Hotels.com, just select "Plaza de España" in the neighborhood choice. There are a number of good luxury hotels near the Plaza.

There's also the option of the NH hotel that we mentioned before. You can book online for the best rate.

For you guys looking for hostels, there are a TON in our neighborhood. We visited the hostels on Calle de Palma, 61 two blocks from our house. They are nice and clean: prices range from $15 - $30. The welcome to spain page lists several hostels on Calle de Palma, which are all in the same business complex.
